Alderman Scott Meyer
Scott earned a bachelor’s degree in English education from Ball State University, a Master of Health Administration from Indiana University, and a Master of Accountancy from the University of Tennessee. He is also a certified public accountant.
He has worked in healthcare executive and management positions at Yale University School of Medicine, regional hospital systems and accounting firms, and for-profit healthcare companies including Community Health Systems and Team Health. Scott is currently employed as the Executive Director for Value Based Care Operations at Summit Medical Group, which is the largest independent medical group in Tennessee.
Although he grew up in the Midwest, lived in New England, consulted organizations all over the United States and traveled on mission trips to Asia, Scott knew the day he moved to East Tennessee, in May 1997, that he was finally home.
Scott met his wife Melissa at Fellowship Church in 2000. Melissa is a graduate of Farragut High School and University of Tennessee Medical School. She has completed multiple medical mission trips to Haiti and Nicaragua and practiced pediatric medicine in West Knox County for over 20 years.
Scott, Melissa, and their two daughters, Emma and Sophie, moved to Farragut in 2011, and consider Farragut their hometown. Emma and Sophie play volleyball year round at Concord Christian School and K2 volleyball club. When the Meyer family is not working or traveling to volleyball tournaments, they are enjoying Farragut’s endless greenways, hanging out in one of Farragut’s beautiful parks, or attending services at Concord Baptist Church.
Community service and hard work are Meyer family values. Scott considers it a blessing to serve his Fox Run neighbors as an HOA board member and his hometown as a member of the Board of Zoning Appeals and an alderman of the North Ward.
