No owner, or agent of such owner of any lot, place or area within one hundred (100) feet of an occupied building which building is located within a residential subdivision in the town, shall permit on such lot, place or area, or upon any sidewalk abutting the same, any weeds, grass, or deleterious, unhealthful growths, or noxious matter, that may be growing, lying, or located thereon to exceed a height of twelve (12) inches. This section does not apply to the owner or operator of an operating farm.
If the grass/weeds exceed the height of twelve (12) inches feel free to file a concern with the Citizen Request Tracker to have this resolved.

Cases are limited to those that involve violations of the Town of Farragut's Code of Ordinances and automated traffic enforcement (red light camera) violations. The Code of Ordinances are available to the public at https://www.municode.com/library/tn/farragut/codes/code_of_ordinances
If found liable, the Judge may assess court costs and fines. State law mandates that courts collect a State Litigation Tax on all cases that are litigated. The state determined that a case is litigated when the defendant is found liable or guilty. The state-mandated litigation tax is currently $13.75 and is to be paid in addition to any court costs and fines assessed by the Municipal Court Judge. Payment for court costs, fines and the state-mandated litigation tax are to be paid within ten (10) days after your scheduled court date.
Court costs are typically assessed at $100 and remain at the Judge’s discretion. Fines for ordinance violations may be up to $50/day for every day that the violation exists. Automated traffic enforcement (red light camera) violations have a civil penalty of $50 per violation.
All court costs and fines for ordinance violations are to be paid to the Town of Farragut and can be paid in person or by mail at the Farragut Town Hall, 11408 Municipal Center Drive, Farragut, TN 37934. The civil penalty for automated traffic enforcement violations is to be paid to Redflex and can be paid online at www.photonotice.com or in person or by mail at the Pine Ridge Office Complex, 706 S Illinois Ave, Suite D103, Oak Ridge, TN 37830.
Anyone cited to appear before the Municipal Court may present his/her own case before the judge unless the defendant is a corporation or limited liability company. This includes the right to present witnesses, documents, and other relevant evidence. The retention or use of any attorney is up to the discretion of the cited party. If the named defendant is a corporation or limited liability company, that legal entity must be represented by an attorney if it is to appear before the court.
Please note that when reserving a pavilion at McFee Park you are NOT reserving the splash pad. We cannot guarantee that the splash pad will be operating during your rental.
The Town Hall Community Room is no longer available to rent. Classroom space, as well as the gym and Assembly Hall, will be available for rent at the Farragut Community Center in early 2020.

The Town offers adult softball and volleyball leagues during the spring, summer and fall. Leagues play seven regular season games and conclude with a season-ending tournament. Leagues offered include: •Men’s recreational league softball – Monday evenings •Competitive volleyball (coed) – Monday evenings •Recreational volleyball (coed) – Monday and Tuesday evenings •Intermediate volleyball (coed) – Thursday evenings For more information or to register, click here. A sample of events includes the Shamrock Ball at Farragut High School, the Bob Watt Youth Fishing Rodeo at Anchor Park and Freaky Friday Fright Nite at Mayor Bob Leonard Park. Field rental prices are $20 per hour for natural grass fields and $40 per hour for synthetic turf fields.
Because the parks are maintained with taxpayer dollars, any business or for profit group needs to arrange usage by calling Lauren Cox at (865) 218-3372. There is a $25 per hour fee and proof of liability insurance is required.
The Town of Farragut is responsible for the administration and enforcement of stormwater and drainage management regulations and associated inspections, including maintenance of the stormwater and drainage system located in public rights-of-way along public streets and other public lands. Additionally, the Town is responsible for the administration and enforcement of floodplain management regulations and associated inspections.
The Town of Farragut is not responsible for the maintenance of stormwater and drainage features located on private property nor within easements on private property.
Private property owners are solely responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of stormwater and drainage features located on their property. Said stormwater and drainage features include (nonexclusively): a good surface cover such as grass to minimize erosion, drainage easements, pipes, open grass swales, detention/retention/sediment basins, oil/water separators, rainwater harvesting systems, pervious paving systems, rain gardens, proprietary water treatment devices etc.
THE TOWN OF FARRAGUT RESERVES THE RIGHT TO DEVIATE FROM THIS POLICY FOR THE HEALTH, WELFARE, AND SAFETY OF THE COMMUNITY

The preferred method of reporting an illicit discharge into the storm sewer system is to submit the issue as a request online via My Government Online. If you do not have access to a computer, you may call (865) 966-7057 and ask to file a citizen's request.

The Stormwater Advisory Committee (SAC) meets every second Thursday of the month at 3:30 p.m. at Town Hall.
Some things to keep in mind before emptying your pool:- chlorine should be allowed to dissipate for a few days prior to discharge- discharge should be in a grassy area, as far away from waters of the state (Turkey Creek, Little Turkey Creek or Fort Loudoun Lake) as possible- rate of discharge should be such as to maximize infiltration into soil without forming a point source and - no soil erosion should occur. This policy applies only to pools that use chlorine as a disinfectant. Other disinfection products are not covered by this policy. Discharges from pools that use other disinfection products must either be routed to a sanitary sewer, or obtain a no-discharge (land application) state operating permit or point source discharge (NPDES) permit.
So in short, yes, it is allowable to discharge your pool over your lawn. Just make sure you let the chlorine dissipate for several days before doing so and make sure the discharge is slow and steady to optimize infiltration.
The Town of Farragut is partnering with the National Wildlife Federation (NWF) to:
1. Promote the NWF Certified Wildlife Habitat Program to our community in order to educate citizens about easy ways they can support wildlife, specifically birds, bees, bats and butterflies in their own outdoor spaces, and
2. Work towards national recognition as a Community Wildlife Habitat.
Farragut is one of the best places to live in the region and, as a result, has been undergoing continuous growth for many years. Through the Community Wildlife Habitat program, the Town will work with its citizens to conserve and protect its environment while creating more well-connected habitats allowing wildlife like birds, bees, and butterflies to continue to thrive.
The Community Wildlife Habitat certification program has been running successfully for more than 40 years, with more than 100 communities certified nationwide. The certification will put Farragut’s name on the national map alongside other communities who have shown a commitment to creating and nurturing natural habitat.
The Farragut Wonderful Wildlife program is a community initiative largely dependent upon the participation and involvement of its residents for success. For Farragut to become a Community Wildlife Habitat it needs to meet a certain threshold in terms of minimum number of homes, schools and common areas that get the certification. As a resident you can do multiple things to contribute:
1. Register your own backyard or outdoor space for certification
2. Spread the word! Talk to and encourage your extended family, friends, neighbors, neighborhood schools etc. to sign-up for and participate in the program. Invite friends to take a tour of your backyard habitat once you get certified.
3. Get involved, participate and volunteer in environmental outreach programs that the Town organizes.
The cost to certify a yard or garden is $20. Schoolyards certify for FREE. The fee can be paid online when you fill in your application. A rebate program is being set up through a partnership with the Water Quality Forum. Contact Lori Saal (email@example.com or 966-7057) to learn more.
The fee helps NWF increase declining habitat for bees, butterflies, birds and other wildlife nationwide! Additional benefits include:
1. A personalized certificate once your habitat is certified.
2. 10 percent off NWF catalog merchandise, such as a yard sign proudly declaring your yard as a certified Wildlife Habitat.
3. One full-year’s membership to NWF and a one-year subscription to its National Wildlife magazine.
NWF sells signs online. Please visit the online store to purchase your sign.
Whether participating in this program or not, one can always see snakes and other wildlife in Tennessee backyards. Participants in this program are typically satisfied with seeing an increase in birds, and insect pollinators, like bees and butterflies, in their yards and do not see increases in dangerous wildlife. Certainly, we ask that you use caution if you see an animal in your yard or space that is unfamiliar to you, and move a safe distance away.

Unfortunately, due to privacy concerns, we are unable to share any names. We would encourage you to talk to others in your neighborhood and local community groups.
You can still take part in the certification program. If you have a porch or a balcony you can use that to create a wildlife habitat. You will use the same application as people with backyards to apply for the certification. You may also want to consider participating by encouraging others to get certified. Consider talking to your neighborhood school or an official who takes care of the park/playground/common area in your neighborhood about becoming a certified habitat.
The certification is a way for you to personally demonstrate that you manage your yard to be wildlife-friendly. When you move the certification for your yard ends, but you can recertify at your new location! The certification is not a legal document like a deed or an easement. The certification is a tool for you to look at simple changes that you can make in your own yard to create a beautiful and healthy space for you and the birds, bees, and butterflies that visit you there.
